Research topics

Most of my current research revolves around the physics of wetting of solid substrates by liquids, that is I investigate how fluids such as water spread on various surfaces. A particular focus on the way bacteria migrate over soft gel substrates has emerged over the past years: here again the physics of wetting plays a major role, with a particular twist owing to the active motion of the swarming cells.

Past research included erosion phenomena, granular flow and energy dissipation in turbulent flows.
